Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with 4+ years of payroll experience specifically in Germany. Strong knowledge of local regulations and policies related to payroll and HR is essential, as is the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines accurately. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and experience with local payroll software solutions are also required, alongside intermediate knowledge of tax authorities. Experience managing technology and external payroll providers is a preferred qualification, and experience with implementation of new payrolls on an industry-recognised payroll solution is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Payroll Expert will evaluate and select relevant software for running payroll, incorporating Deel product technology requirements, ensuring accurate and timely execution of payroll in their region and other trained countries. They will prepare and reconcile internal payroll reports, ensuring compliance with local tax authorities, own all critical local payroll and HR processes including setting up involuntary deductions and supporting onboardings and offboardings of employees. The role involves assessing and improving rapid growth processes and procedures, staying informed of regulatory changes, and working cross-functionally to provide expertise on local payroll and HR matters. Finally, the Payroll Expert will answer complex payroll and HR related questions from employees and clients, and manage technology and external payroll providers.
